Refund policy

The short version

Thirty days, no questions asked, full refund. Email book@doctorhomeinspector.com with the address you bought under and we will refund you. You do not have to explain yourself, and we will not try to talk you out of it.

Why you probably will not need this

The trial is the entire application. Not a limited demo, not a fourteen-day clock — the whole thing, with every feature, for as long as you like. You can run a complete inspection and read every page of the report before you spend anything. Reports simply carry a band marking them as a trial copy.

We built it that way on purpose. If the software is not right for how you work, we would rather you found that out for free than discovered it after paying us.

The perpetual licence

Within thirty days of purchase, a full refund on request.

After thirty days we do not refund the perpetual licence. By then you have had the trial plus a month of real use, and the licence does not expire, so there is nothing to hand back. If something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us anyway — a policy is not a reason to stop being reasonable.

The annual subscription

Within thirty days of a charge, a full refund on request.

After thirty days you can cancel at any time and the subscription simply runs to the end of the term you have paid for. We do not pro-rate part-years, and we do not bill you again after you cancel.

Cancelling does not disable anything you bought outright. If you hold a perpetual licence, the application, your branding, your jurisdiction packs and every report you have produced keep working exactly as before. You stop receiving library updates. That is the whole of the difference.

What happens to your licence key

When we refund a perpetual licence, the key is deactivated in our records and you agree to stop using the software. Because activation is verified on your own device rather than against a server, we cannot switch it off remotely — so this part runs on trust, in both directions. We have chosen an architecture that keeps working in a basement with no signal, and this is the trade-off that comes with it.

Please talk to us before you dispute a charge

If something is wrong, email book@doctorhomeinspector.com and you will get a person. A chargeback takes weeks, costs us a fee on top of the refund, and gets you your money no faster than simply asking. We have never refused a refund request inside the window and we do not intend to start.

Trials, updates and support

The trial is free and unlimited in time. Updates within your included period, and for as long as a subscription is active, are included at no charge. Support is by email at book@doctorhomeinspector.com.

Taxes and currency

Prices are in United States dollars. Any sales tax, VAT or GST shown at checkout is collected as required by your jurisdiction and is refunded along with the purchase price.

How to request a refund

Email book@doctorhomeinspector.com from the address you purchased with, or include your order reference. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear within five to ten business days depending on your bank.
